the ice cream man

also known to some as Peppermint. Peppermint, or the ice cream man is a former bartender of the former bar Henderson Street Bar and Grill. He is in a band with a stupid name. I think it’s Sential. Stupid. They apparently played the other night, but it was cold out and I’m extremely lazy over breaks….so I chose to nap instead of go. I’m sure they were as average as ever. The great thing about Peppermint is he tells these silly stories. They usually just kinda fade off in the end, like he’s memory at the time, and involve some sort of alcohol and walking. That and he gives me ice cream. That is always nice. I pretend that ice cream is good for you like beer and provides essential ingredients…you know…milk with calcium. Or something like that.

*Sigh*

I’ve done nothing today. I’m so proud of me. It looks like everyone I’ve psuedo-dated in the last 4 months has tried to contanct me this weekend and I slept through it. Hey, it’s rough being in grad school over a long weekend.

Vacations are a funny thing

All sorts of strange things happen. Instant messages from long-lost boy toys, movie nights with future roommates, chillin with the ice cream guys, shop talk, and overloads of coffee. It is all sorts of weird and that’s just this evening. Who knows what will go down tomorrow. Apparently Peppermints band is playing and I’m suppose to go. C’est la vie. I guess I’ll go. Who knows they might even be decent.

All the Archivist in the house

Give it up! You would be so proud of me. I just finished sorting and filing my negatives. And I mean all my negatives…going all the way back to high school. Scary. You want a reprint of that horrible shot of me looking like a psycho? Well….tough I know exactly where it is and am not telling you. So HA!

Today I went for a walk. I decided to explore campus a little bit. Sure this is my second semester here, but that doesn’t mean that I have a clue as to what is cool out there. I went for a little jog, and learned that jogging just might kill me. Anyway after that I walked around and discovered the Forest Theater or something that sounds like that. It was cool. I ran up the steps and felt like the king of the world as it was very easy to do. I continued on from there past Playmakers* and took a leisurely stroll around the arboretum. I don’t know. The arboretum wasn’t that great. I guess I like Japanese gardens much more and the American/English gardens look sloppy to me. On my sashay I saw a few families out to take their Thanksgiving pictures. My family never did that. Thanksgiving we eat, drink, and maybe go to a movie. That’s the way it goes. No walks in the park. And hopefully no pictures. Oh well…the news from home is that Mom had to call the plumber. 52 years old and still no sure how to work a garbage disposal. Geez.

Lou called this morning. He may join me for New Year’s-the bestest holiday ever! He has a new diet. He calls it the beer diet. All you consume is beer. It’s good for you. Love that kid.

*Playmakers is where Tuesday Guy worked and still may.

Um…hi. Welcome to the Thanksgiving Break. Unlike the fall break I don’t think I’ll spend this one completely wasted. But you never know.

Every morning Ms. Deborah comes and cleans the bathroom. She does an excellent job. It is super clean afterward and I wonder why people insist on wearing shoes in the shower-that’s just a strange thing to me. Ms. Deborah does not have a set time which she cleans the bathroom. Sometimes it’s 9:00am sometimes around noon. But no matter what time she shows up to clean the bathroom it never fails that I’m in there. Usually doing something embarrassing too. I think it’s a plot.

Kansas Wins!

Oh yeah. Bring it on baby. But in small doses, it’s still early in the session and we need to warm up. But we beat Michigan State-take that Peppermint! It was great. And I only had to hear a little bit of crap from that weird folklore student who thinks Maryland is the home of basketball, what a freak.

In related news…Hottie McHothot wished me a happy thanksgiving today. That was nice. Ben is off to Georgia for the weekend and Trish heads back north to hang out with the parents. i’ve stocked up on cheese, so I should make it through this holiday. & if all else fails I’ll just go back to Goldies to see if the bartender will buy me more wings.

It is never a good idea to count your friends. Because you start thinking are they really my friend, are they just nice to me because I buy them food? And then, if you compare with your “friends” how many other friends you have you get a surprise. Trish commented on 1.5 friends, I heard someone else say 3 and here am I with 10 very good, close friends. Does this mean the ideals of friendship are different? Do I trust more than I should? Do I tell too many things to too many people? Or am I just that popular? I vote for just that popular. Do you know how hard it is to try and pull around here when all your mates keep walking by and saying hi? It detracts from the object of my attention and I don’t get into their pants as soon as I’d like. Tee-hee.
