If you are a fan of On the Border, please stop reading
Cause I’m not. Especially the one at 95th & Mall in Overland Park. The margaritas were distinctially lacking in tequila and the service was at best shit. However, since it was not my birthday, nor my choice I was relatively nice about the entire thing.
Dale, the server who sucked (I remember them if they are really bad, or really hot) messed up my drink order and brought me a frozen margarita (who drinks those?). I think Jett might have seen the rage in my eyes because he actually just switched drinks with me.
I had two tacos, or what I think were suppose to be tacos. They weren’t too good. Meaning they were so greasy or wet or something that the bottom fell out. Ick.
On the bright side of the night, I got to see T & H’s new house. It’s a house! And their new puppy. It’s cute. His name is actually Frank D Tank. Plus Jett attempting to grad Lynda’s (who has a ferret wtf?) boob. Not to mention seeing Ultra-Fitness Matt, Ms. Mandi, and Crash.
Today should bring drunken cheer and god-knows-what.

No. Not Really.
Well, let’s see. I took an exciting trip to K-State yesterday morning. One of my parents dogs had cataract surgery last month and this was a check-up. We had a hot veterinary student look at the dog. The guy was extremely attractive and funny, but not so skilled in the check-up. But, hey he was a student and is learning…right? He also had no idea what UNC was-in fact asked if it was in West Virginia. Um…yeah.
I then returned to Larryville and went to Henry’s for some coffee and a bite to eat. Ms. Erica and I managed to snag a table in the back. I looked up and there was a painting done by none-other-than Molly Murphy. In fact the entire coffee shop featured her work. It was a bit of a shocker, mainly just because I wasn’t expecting it.
When I got home I played with my new MD player until dinner time. We went to the club, where I had an oh-so-average chicken caesar salad. After dinner and talking to the fabulous Ms. Misspelled Allison I watched Little Big Man with my father, because he’s been bugging me to forever.
All and all, an interesting day I say. Also…it was Ms. Lisa’s and Mr. Chad’s birthday. So happy birthdays to ya.

December 28, 2004 at 6:15 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentOne Post in the Style of Pinky
This post is inspired by Ms. Pinky, also I saw this and thought of her.
Okay, so I went for wings from the best place in town for wings the other night. I also enjoyed a large glass of liquid with them and the company of one Ms. Andrea.
Then of course yesterday I went to the mall with Ms. Erica. After enjoying delicious Thai food.
Today I headed out into the great big world. Okay, so it was just Lawrence. But it was downtown Lawrence. Which is, by the way full of stuff not found in Chapel Hill.
I went by the local brewery and felt like everything was okay. I then went into Abercrombie & Fitch. I don’t know why I do this, but sometimes it just calls. I saw this t-shirt and was amazed at the trueness of statement.
I then went into Hobbs, which is this cute little store. I like to buy people gifts from there. Not necessarily these or these, but other things.
I went on a mission to get some yarn for various friends who knit. I knew just the right place too. It was full of yarn. All sorts of yarn. But nothing that screamed SILS (or whatever) Knit to me.
I traversed far and wide and even past here. It usually shocks me too, don’t worry.
I ended up in Urban Outfitters, one place that Chapel Hill is definitely lacking. It has a great selection of books, including this one and this one, not to mention this one or this one. It also has products that I sorely needed in Adelaide.
I continued on and saw this. So, it might actually open on Franklin Street as it is a real place.
I don’t know what this is, but it scares me a little. Also, were you aware that coffee is Latino? This was on a drinking fountain, but are they talking about the fountain or what?
Just a block off of the main drag they are building new condo (high priced and all). I saw the construction and thought, wait…this isn’t the new science complex.
Bars that I’ve been to, but I felt bad the entire time. And for those who love books. I found this and this. Oops, did I say love?

Today I went with Ms. Erica and ran some errands. First we went to the bank. Using the ATM is awesome. Then we visited the post office. Did you know they have awesome new DIY machines? It was niffty. We headed into Overland Park and to the mall. I needed to secure a new planner. We also visited the Gap, where I got some new jeans and a couple of shirts. We also hit the Limited, where I got a cute new sweater.
We returned to Lawrence and hit Half Price books, where I got some more stuff. Including notecards, if you’re lucky you’ll get one (or if you ask for one) and a book on Nomadic herds.
My question is, why didn’t anyone get me this for Christmas. You know that I would love it.

December 23, 2004 at 10:15 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentGo Go Go-Karts!
Yesterday was Mr. Tim’s birthday. Ms. Erica planned a Mexican dinner, as previously mentioned and movie. They came by and rescued me from the parents ranch around 6pm. We drove into Kansas City, okay it was Lenexa-the Smart Corridor. We ate at Pandors. It was okay. Very affordable, except the margaritas that were $21 a pitcher (damn!).
We finished eating way before we anticipated, so we decided to go drive go-karts. I had never done it before so I put up my $28.50 for 15 minutes and headed to the indoor track, despite my skirt.
Um….it was still very cold and I was paranoid I’d get pulled over for dangerous/bad driving so I never really gunned it. Given the opportunity I would probably do it again, if properly attired and on a warmer occasion. Just a note, I was not the slowest person on the track.

I did not immediately write when I got home. Shame, shame, shame.
Now that that’s over.
The trip back to Kansas was uneventful. The highlight came when we stopped at a rest stop in NC. The doors to the building made this great sound. It was like either a distant Godzilla or bobcat. Much fun was had impersonating them.
Everything is more or less the same in Kansas as the last time I was here. It’s bloody cold though. Amazingly enough I wish I was back in North Carolina already, as it isn’t quite as cold there.
Tonight I’m heading into Kansas City with some friends to see Meet the Fockers and eat Mexican. Ah, Mexican. Food of the hungry.
What else?
I got nothing. Perhaps more later.

Okay. I’ve been drunk. What do you want? A cookie?
The party was good. I think. I don’t really know, as was very drunk & what-not.
I’m excited for MadMan’s tale of intrige. I wonder if I’ll be featured as a landmass, or slightly hispanic housekeeper (low quality) who is kept around for entertainment. We’ll see.
Signed a lease today. Toby will have a garage.
Saw Blade Trinity again. This time that pesky plot thing was really of no importance.
Got a call for an interview. That’s exciting.
Am writing christmas cards.
Am very tired.
Wish I had more time before my parents show up, as I’m completely unprepared.

Even though there was apparently a pub crawl last night. The time of my party is fast approaching. I’ve procured a keg and even tapped it myself. I’m so proud of me. It’s a bit foamy, but hey, it was my first official tap, man.
Just got rid of the other bookcase. Ndogg took it. I got to meet his mum. Interesting lady. The stories I could tell her about her son, she might drop dead. Okay, now to finish cleaning up after the pigs-n-a-blanket that served as lunch. And have more beer of course.
Cheers.
