March 15, 2006 at 11:16 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentTomorrow I’m leaving for Savannah. Woot.
The people operating on Sarah phoned today. She should be ready by the middle of next week. That’s cool.
Watched Closer & Love, Honour, & Obey this evening. Both sucked in their own ways. Love…was better because Jonny Lee Miller was in it and I do love Jonny Lee.
Changed the batteries in the carbon monoxide detector as the other ones were making the thing beep hella loud. I could here it from the car. No there isn’t any carbon monoxide in the house, the batteries were just low.
Going to sleep to dream of super-saturated green ferns, uncomfortable midgets, & disneyland.

March 14, 2006 at 10:45 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentHappy Pi Day
Tonight I had dinner with David. I learned about the seedy underbelly of food service. Apparently I always worked in the up and up kinds of places.
MF Chris said he would burn pi into his yard; I’m waiting for photographic proof.
Bear is confused about why I’m upset. He asked about it today and quite frankly I’m not ready to tell him that it was the way he brought up his love interest. He did it the way someone would who doesn’t want to upset another person. He did it the way you would hanging out with a recent ex. That’s what pissed me off. That and the 40 year old virgin.
I’ve had a bad appletini & cosmo this evening. Thus I’m chatty.
Pi Day Song
Refrain:
Pi day songs
All day long.
Oh, what fun it is,
To sing a jolly pi day song
in a fun math class
like this. (Repeat )
Verse:
Circles in the snow,
Around and round we go.
How far did we have to run?
Diameter times pi! (Refrain ) from link

March 13, 2006 at 10:19 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentJust heard from my dad. He spent last weekend in Daytona for Bike Week. Apparently it was quite an experience including a topless 60-year-old (gross). I said, thanks for calling sooner to let me know you weren’t one of the 18. Whatever though.
The countdown to St. Patrick’s is on. The word is #4 will be fixed up and ready for me & Carly to stay there. I haven’t been there since before Grandma died. & the word on the street is that everyone is partying at #3 now instead of Elfin & Brigette’s; I say good they need some sleep. Here’s to looking forward to bloody mary’s in the morning & ICB all night long.

So I was talking to Firebreather Jen the other day and Office 2007 came up. She said that the toolbars would be gone. I panicked, but then thought…wait a tick, perhaps they’ll be replaced with something better. They wouldn’t just remove them. And check it out they did.

I’m personally quite excited about the new office and perhaps I’ll hold off on replacing the computer till it’s available.

I woke up early around 10am. I talked to Lola, she was going horseback riding. I got out of bed around noon. I pissed around my house for a bit.
I went to the library around 12:30. I did some work there and checked out a laptop…seeing how mine isn’t functioning so well these days. On the way back I stopped and took pictures of the azaleas in bloom, along with the japanese garden on campus and a cherry tree that’s in blossom.
I decided not to go to dinner with the Dixie Bikers partly because I’m a little scared of the roads to Tallahassee/Monticello and party because I’m broke. I made tacos instead and worked while watching UNC lose and KU win.
Bear called and invited me over. I thought, he get out of the house…cool. So I packed up work and headed over. We ended up renting possibly the most depressing film ever. I left shortly after its conclusion and am now debating whether or not to bother waking up tomorrow…as I could just sleep through till Monday.

March 11, 2006 at 1:03 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentYesterday pre-bizarreO car wreck I went down to visit my own wrecked car.
Sarah was fine for the most part. She’s definitely in good hands. I talked to the guy who was welding her parts back. He was surprised about how hard I was hit as stuff was really squished. I asked about the frame and he said it was fine. The radiator is fine. So that’s good news. And she should be all put together Monday afternoon. Woot.

The guys will start painting her later in the week and I may possibly have her back Thursday or Friday. Now that’s a good St. Patrick’s Day gift. I pulled some music out of her as though I dig the latest Cake, Franz, & the last 2 Skinnee J’s it was time for a change. I took some pictures of Sarah and bid her adieu.
The people at the body shop were very nice and wished more customers were like me. Apparently everyone expects their car to be fixed in a week, whereas I’m shocked that it’ll be ready in a little less than 3.
Visiting B&N and spend too much money. I have an illness. I’m a book fiend. I got infinite ascent, the art of the infinite, guns, germs & steel, and another Alexander the Great biography.
I also got the first role of film developed from my new camera. That was exciting. Then it was off to Monticello to see the community theater do On Golden Pond. It was surprising good.
DS Wes & Jennifer were there. We chatted post performance and then Chris & I headed to Waterworks for a beer and some food. Mmmm food.

March 11, 2006 at 2:54 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentWhat is this? Some sort of high school when bad things happen movie?
So I’m on my way home from Monticello. I really have to pee. There is nothing open in Monticello after oh about 9pm. So I get out of town a good distance and away from other cars. I pull over on Fulford Street and get out to go to the bathroom. After a nice long urination I get back in the car. I crank the Everclear and am on my way.
I’m rocketing up 19 when I see an overturned car on the other lane (southbound). I go up and turn around at the first available spot. Sure enough it’s an overturned car. I stop, put on the hazard lights and get out. Three kids come walking up from a field asking for a ride. I ask if they are okay. They say sure. I ask if I need to call someone; they say no. They ask for a ride. I think, okay a bunch of high school (probably) kids in a wreck, obviously drunk/high…what are they going to do? Run. I say okay.
Another car pulls up as they are throwing beer & whiskey into my car. The people in the other car get out and call 911. I see/realize they are doing this and think good. I get the kids into my car, promising to take them wherever they want…as long as it’s a hospital. I go down a dirt road they ask for. I turn around. I come back to the site of the wreck. They say, please don’t stop the police are coming.
They discuss reporting the car stolen. I don’t say anything. I start driving to the hospital. The girl is obviously injured. Probably a broken arm…who knows what else. My car is starting to smell of gasoline from the kids.
I pull into Archbold. I tell the girl to get out. She needs medical attention. I walk them into the emergency room and say, she hurt her arm. Please help her. I leave her and her boyfriend Neil (?) to check in and get help. I go back to my car where the driver, Vincent (?) is. He gets out of the car and goes into the hospital. I call 911 and tell them I have the people from the wreck and where I am.
The driver comes out of the hospital and starts walking away. I ask where he’s going, he says to a friends. He asks if I called the fuzz, I said no; don’t be silly.
The police arrive shortly. I calmed myself by calling Firebreather Jen to tell her what went down. I tell the police everything, including the whiskey (Jack) and beer (Bud-cans) in my car. I don’t know where they got it…from the wreck. I tell them about the kid who left and which way he went. I tell them they talked about setting the car on fire (not mine, theirs) and saying it was stolen. I tell them I wanted to make sure the kids were okay and still do the right thing–knowing that I shouldn’t have let them leave the scene but was concerned that they would run.
They say thank you. They take down my information. They get the stuff out of my car. I say everything but the evian bottle and hanger is theirs. The officer dropped a beer and asked me to pick it up. I did; I even resisted asking if I could keep it, you know for reporting it (I didn’t do it; don’t worry).
I ask if there is anything else I can do to help. They say no. I say, so can I go? They say yes. One of the kids, Neil is looking at me like I’m the devil. His mother showed up and was covering for him–is that what a good mother does? She looks at me like I’m a traitor. Perhaps I am. Perhaps I’m just an upright citizen who wants to help, even if that means acting like I’ll let the kids just walk away when I know I’ll call the police. Perhaps I was just covering my ass.
What if this goes to trial? Will I be called to court? What would this go to trial for? Oooo questions.
